My trousers feel looser on the thighs and arse. I think I’ve lost some weight, though the pesky scale doesn’t reflect this. I need to get a tape measure so that I can measure myself – weight isn’t everything in this attempt of mine to slenderize, but darnit it is a big consideration.

Yipee
I did 9200 steps total yesterday.
Dinner was a Lean Cuisine Lasagne, 300 calories. I was at a loss with regards to dinner, so I just popped into my local shop and picked it up.

July 29/30
Yesterday I didn’t have any bacon so I just made a mushroom omlette for breakfast. Lunch was my homemade chicken curry with steamed broccoli (I’m trying very hard not to eat rice). For dinner I purchased 200g of pork – fried it up with mushrooms & onions with a side of steamed broccoli.
I managed to walk 7350 steps, so that’s a slight improvement. Not the 10K I was hoping for, but better than 6K.
Today, on the 30th:
Breakfast – 3 slices of bacon, 2 large eggs scrambled with mushrooms, tomato and onion.
Lunch – chicken curry & cauliflower
I had told myself last night I needed to up my walking so this morning I walked to work. It took me nearly 40 minutes and when I got into the office I was quite the sweaty mess — thank the stars that I have personal wipes in the office. After 5 minutes sitting in my chair I felt good. I now feel quite energetic. I managed to walk 4600 steps between home and work. And since it is monthend here right now I’m busily running around like a headless chicken, so I am racking up the steps. Yipee!
Not sure what to have for dinner yet. I’m thinking a really large salad.

July 28th – evening
My came over to the office to sign some documents so that she can apply for a CPP bump up called the “Child Rearing Provision” – seems if a woman takes time out to raise her kids and her income drops significantly CPP can discount those years (up to age 7 of the child) when calculating how much CPP a person would get once they retire. My mom doesn’t get much, about $200 per month, so this is a chance to bump it up a little.
As a “thank you” my mom offered to take me out for dinner. As she isn’t very mobile, one of her legs keeps dragging a little, I chose to go to “Marche” across the street from my office building. I got some pork tenderloin, roasted, and some roasted veggies. The veggies were horrid, someone put some sort of horrible spices on them which made them barely edible. So I chose to just eat the meat and have a salad at home. Mom had some chicken and rice, but the chicken was overcooked and dry.
So dinner – 5oz roasted pork tenderloin, 2c salad, 2c cucumber slices
My pedometer showed only 6000 steps so I’m not completely thrilled in that area.

This past Weekend
I weighed myself yesterday, Sunday, and there was no change; no weight loss. At first I was a little disheartened but then I told myself this is okay, I haven’t gained anything and I am due to get my period in about 4 days… so there could be water retention.
I intend on powering through this and hopefully next Sunday I can see some results.
I have also decided to increasing my walking as I wasn’t too thrilled with how little I did last week, averaging 6000 paces per day. I want that up to atleast 10,000 per day.
I also need to re-focus myself with regards to food. Last night I made a low-carb/non-lactose chicken curry. I bought 1kg of skinless chicken breasts yesterday and threw them into a pot with one onion, 3 cloves of garlic, one 16oz tin of chopped tomatoes and a lot of curry powder.
Today I have had, so far:
Breakfast – 3 rashers of bacon, 2 large eggs fried with mushrooms, onion, tomato and green pepper
Lunch – 2c salad (with tomato, cucumber and a small splash of italian dressing), 1c curry with 2c steamed cauliflower
Dinner – my mom is taking me out, but I get to choose where, so I’m thinking Le Marche as I could get some roasted chicken and salad or steamed veggies there.

July 22nd
I’ve had a relatively good day, food-wise.
Breakfast – 1oz chopped kelbasa, 1/4c chopped tomato, 1/4c chopped mushroom, 1tbsp chopped onion all fried with 2 large eggs.
Lunch – my beef stew (using the IPD recipe) with a side of broccoli. Yesterday I purchased a bag of salad and some italian dressing, so I also had a salad.
Dinner – pork butterfly-cut, mushrooms, onion, garlic and 1c broccoli.
I had taken up Lydia’s suggestion of going to St Lawrence Market, which I did after work. I spent some time just wandering about, checking what they have. Today I purchased the pork and some “organic” bacon, which I hope to try tomorrow morning. I think I shall continue getting my meat at the Market as I can easily ask for just a single chicken breast or just 2 links of sausage.
Managed to do 6000 steps today – not the greatest, but I’m hoping to have significantly better numbers on the weekend.

July 21
I didn’t blog about this weekend, silly me.
I have found it harder to stick to this diet on weekends. That has always been the hurdle for me in whatever diet I have tried. I can be super good during the week, but once I’m home that structure from the week is gone.
Yesterday I had some carbs, I was bad, but it was 2 slices of high fibre german bread made without sugar. So I’m justifying it to myself in that it had 4g of fibre per slice and were low carb.
Breakfast – 2 rashers of bacon, 1/4c chopped tomato, 2tbsp chopped onion, 2 mushrooms chopped, 2 large eggs
Lunch -2 slices high fibre german bread, 2oz swiss cheese, 2oz genoa salami
Dinner – I just nibbled on some celery, I wasn’t really hungry
Saturday – I made a beef stew as per the recipe in Neris & India’s Idiot Proof Diet but didn’t eat any of it. I went to dinner at Lydia’s and Andrew’s and had a lovely roast beef with a tiny amount of roasted potatoes, green beans and mushrooms. Breakfast/lunch was with my mom and I had bacon & eggs at a brunch place.
Today, Monday – breakfast (I ran out of bacon) – 2oz chopped kelbasa, 1/4c chopped tomato, 2tbsp chopped onion & 2 eggs all cooked together in one frying pan.
Lunch – it’s the beef stew I made (using Lydia’s herbs). I threw in some extra broccoli this morning. Hopefully it will be good and scrumptious.
Dinner – I think it will be chicken, I have some defrosting in my fridge as I type.
Overall I feel okay, very tired, but I think that’s down to a possible bladder infection. I feel slightly smaller, though it isn’t noticeable to most yet…. 5 pounds with regards to my current shape isn’t that noticeable, but hopefully once I hit the 10-15 pound mark peeps will see something; I’m certainly hoping to feel something

July 17th – evening
I couldn’t find my bathing suit so I had decided to go in search of a new one at the Eaton Centre. Sears Canada doesn’t seem to carry anything above size 16 unless the woman has huge tits – which I don’t, I’m a happy little B-cup. I went to Bikini Village and of course there was nothing. Addition-Elle had closed their store at the TEC and I wasn’t prepared to walk down to it after walk up to TEC. I found it disheartening to not be able to find anything. Does the vast majority of the retail world believe that fat women don’t wear bathing suits? That we don’t enjoy frolicking in the water?
I didn’t buy anything. Got home and went through my stuff and found my old bathing suit.
On to my dinner – I hadn’t prepared anything ahead of time, nothing was defrosted and I didn’t want to give in to the temptation of making some pancakes. Instead I was good and made myself a mushroom and tomato omelette.
I have also started to track how many steps I take in a day. Yesterday I did 7,500 steps and today it was 9,200 steps.
I’m currently waiting to hear from Diresquirrel with regards to an outing to a beach tomorrow.

July 17th
I’m feeling slightly content, not completely, but I’m still in a good zone.
Woke up this morning and had my 2 eggs scrambled with onion and mushrooms, and 4 rashers of bacon. Lunch, which I just finished, was 2.5c of cauliflower (I found yesterday that 2c didn’t satisfy me and I was quite famished by the time I had dinner), with some curried chicken.
Not sure what to do for dinner. Diresquirrel, who had been staying with me for several days was doing all the cooking. He’s gone as of this afternoon so I don’t have my “personal chef” anymore. I think I’ll just do a quick and simple stirfry.
Neris & India suggest purchasing certain supplements, but I haven’t done that yet and I’m not quite sure if I will. They recommend chromium (200mcg chromium polynicotinate), coenzyme Q10, vitamin C tablets and a multi-vitamin with no iron. I do take a multi-vitamin each day, mostly because due to my lactose intolerance I am not getting enough of the necessary nutrients for my bones through my regular eating habits.
I know it has only be a slightly more than 24 hours since I started this diet, but I am feeling a certain looseness around my waist, in my trousers.
I started this diet at 255lb, standing at 5′5″. To not dishearten myself I should keep myself to only stepping onto the scales once a week. I think I shall do that on Sunday.
